Refining

The characteristics of the material determine the choice of treatment after homogenization. Alloys containing a relatively high percentage of gold undergo prerefining by chlorination in the "Miller" furnace.

This pyro-metallurgical procedure performs an initial separation of gold, silver, and copper.

The resulting gold anodes will be processed further in the electrolytic cells. Silver and copper, in the form of Miller slag, is sent to the silver circuit for treatment.
