Processing guidelines
ANNEALING 850 °C for 20 to 30 minutes then quenched in water. In order to avoid oxidation, work under reducing atmosphere.
COLD WORKING The amount of coldwork completed before annealing should be between 30% and 75% reduction in area.
SOLDERING By torch or furnace. The Platinum solders N° 286 (1430-1450 °C) - 2182 (1345-1375 °C) - 283 (1250-1300 °C) et 281 (1050-1115 °C) are strongly recommended. For alternatives please see list of solders.
PICKLING A surface oxidation can be removed by polishing, or thermal treatment under reducing atmosphere at 850 °C for some minutes.
