We are currently searching for a Technical Sales Engineer for our Advanced Coatings Division. As an integral part of our Americas sales team, the incumbent will be responsible for providing technical service for the Metalor Chemicals business including the development of new proprietary processes allied to the precious metal and some base metal, electroplating market.

The essential functions of this position include, but not limited to:

• Helping bring the following products/processes to market in a timely fashion:
  • Competitive high speed and regular speed acid gold processes.
  • Competitive pure gold processes.
  • Competitive high speed palladium and palladium alloy processes.
  • Competitive high speed silver processes for semi-conductor and bright silver processes for decorative applications.
  • Other processes that may be required as an ongoing process.
• Providing technical assistance as and when appropriate for installations.
• Providing technical service at key customer accounts as and when appropriate.
• Performing regular analysis and troubleshooting experimentation at customers’ request producing results in a timely fashion.
• Providing training as appropriate for junior staff.
• Generating technical papers for publication and/or presentation at society meetings.
• Generating monthly activities and projects controls.
• Preparing and participating in technical presentations for customers.
• Participating in the International Technical Exchange Program of the corporation.
• Interfacing regularly with business managers in the chemicals divisions.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Education & Knowledge

• Bachelors Degree in Chemistry
• Knowledge of electroplating chemistry and technology; including formulation and application

Experience

• Minimum 5 years experience in all aspects of electroplating, with emphasis on precious metals, gold, silver, palladium and palladium nickel.
• Some base metal experience is desirable.
• Familiarity with FMEA preferred

Skills

• Excellent problem solving skills, organization, and verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent project management skills
• Ability to interface with suppliers, all level of employees, business groups, and external customers
• Ability to work with minimal to no supervision
• Ability to prepare presentations and reports as required

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft office products particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
